Objective of the study was to assess the application potential of the bioacoustic correction method for the psychological correction of cyber athletes.
Methods and structure of the study. Subject to the controlled experiment were 20 cyber athletes aged 18-25 years. The subjects were tested to assess the application potential of the bioacoustic correction method for the psychological correction in cyber-sports. During the experiment, the subject was to spend 1 hour playing "Overwatch" in the competitive mode prior to bioacoustic correction and 1 hour after it. Based on the results of the game, we estimated the aiming accuracy, average damage, average number of kills, mission pursuit. The resultant stress level was estimated on the scale Lemyre-Tessier-Fillion Psychological Stress Measure (PSM25)".
Results and conclusions. As follows from the study findings, the Experimental Group cyber athletes were found to have a significant reduction in the stress level and a significant improvement of the accuracy and mission pursuit as opposed to the Control Group (placebo group). Improving the abilities of spatial orientation and coordination of own motor actions with those of the team is most likely related to better synchronization of the sensorimotor rhythm of the EEG. The decrease in the level of stress responses to visual and auditory stimuli during competitions is indicative of the positive impact of bioacoustic correction on the harmonization of neuroactivity within the beta- and theta-bands of the occipital and temporal lobes of the brain. The damage and kill rates did not change, probably due to the fact that a more concerted game involves distributing these scores in favor of the rest of the team members. It was concluded that the bioacoustic correction method is effective in application to cyber athletes.
