Introduction. Computerization has become vitally important. [1]. Due to the situation with coronavirus, distance learning technologies have been applied on a national scale [2].
The purpose of study is to define the effectiveness of the discipline «Physical Culture and Sport» in terms of the pandemic.
Methods and organization. The analysis of the effectiveness of teaching 1st and 2nd year full-time students is conducted (n=148). Distance learning carried out in Microsoft Teams in the Office 365 platform and included students’ independent study with training materials and theoretic test; off-line discussion and practical works on determining one's own functional, physical development and physical shape; design individual health-improvement programs based on results; on-line demonstration of developed and learned complexes, performance of test exercises(skipping, push-ups, lifting and lowering the body from a lying position, with legs bent, leanings forward from a standing position on a bench, "plank" on the forearms, tilt test, Stange’s test and Quetelet index.
Results. To assess the impact of distance technologies, the results of intermediate and final tests were compared and analyzed in the 1st semester according to the usual program and in the 2nd distantly. Improvements were observed in all tests, but they were credible in the 2nd semester. Only the Quetelet index did not show significant changes, but taking into account the transition to self-isolation in March 2020 and related to it limitation of physical activity, the indicator can also be considered positive. According to the results of pedagogical observations, the method of individualization of classes based on the usage of information technologies, in consideration of control of functional indicators, changed the direction of trainings in favor of physical development and functional capabilities resulting in the improving the dynamics of indicators characterizing the overall level of physical shape of female students (p<0.005) and physical abilities (p<0.05-0.01).
Findings. Analyzing results was demonstrated that usage of the proposed distance learning technologies in the academic discipline «Physical Culture and Sports» in terms of the COVID–19 pandemic increases the enhancement of student learning by increasing the accessibility and flexibility of the educational process with the software, individual control of the educational needs of student and the pace and rhythm of learning.
