Objective of the study was to analyze the level of development of motor abilities in children diagnosed with cerebral palsy during physical education classes in an educational institution.
Methods and structure of the study. The experiment was carried out on the basis of the Surgut Municipal Pre-school Educational Institution "Primary School No 39". At the first stage, two groups were formed: Experimental and Control, 5 children each. At the second stage, a pedagogical experiment was carried out. In the Control Group, the training sessions were conducted according to the standard physical education curriculum, while in the Experimental Group - using the play-based tasks designed to develop different motor qualities. Each training session included games to develop attention and spatial orientation abilities. Active games were adapted to the psychophysical demands of the examined children.
Results of the study and conclusions. During the training sessions with the use of various active games, the motor skills of the Experimental Group subjects improved considerably: their movements became smoother and more accurate. The use of specially organized active games during the therapeutic physical training of children diagnosed with cerebral palsy were proved to be effective in the development of their motor skills and abilities and beneficial for their personality as a whole, since in the course of team games and relays children develop a sense of camaraderie and mutual assistance.
