Objective of the study was to develop a methodology of junior Muay Thai fighters’ psychic self-regulation of the state of readiness for extreme sports activities.
Methods and structure of the study. The study was carried out during the Muay Thai Championships held on November 23-24, 2019, in Tchaikovsky. Sampled for the study were the 12-13 year-old trainees of M.Y. Stepanov, World Class Masters of Sports and a coach (n=10). Their functional and psychoemotional states were rated 30-40 min before entering the ring. The athletes’ functional state was evaluated based on the heart rate variability analysis carried out as part of Omega PRO complex developed by Dinamika Technologies company. Their psychoemotional state was evaluated using the Luscher and Motivation to Avoid Failure tests. Based on the data obtained, actions on the form of warm-up and the strategy of seconding a bout were taken.
Results of the study and conclusions. The proposed method for evaluating the athletes' functional and psychoemotional states based on the heart rate variability test rates and results of the psychological tests of M. Lusher and T. Ehlers had a positive effect on the athlete’s optimal combat state.
