Objective of the study was to determine the effectiveness of competitive acrobatics in application to elementary school students.
Methods and structure of the study. During the educational experiment, 32 health and fitness classes were held with the elementary school students of Voronezh, including sports acrobatics classes. The main part of the training session included exercises to develop strength and coordination abilities, as well as the elements of competitive acrobatics. The Experimental Group subjects were trained based on the principle of consistent application of didactic approaches to the health and fitness classes, while the Control Group ones – according to the traditional academic physical education program for lower grades.
Results of the study and conclusions. The findings show that the introduction of organizational and methodological support of competitive acrobatics enables to significantly increase the level of motor fitness. It should also be noted that the achievement of the high level of development of motor skills in the Experimental Group boys and girls contributes to the effective mastery of new motor activities, thus providing an opportunity to participate in official competitions in the chosen sport.
