Introduction. Many authors were engaged in modeling of different aspects of training of highly qualified athletes [3, 4]. However, the information collected is more relevant to physical and technical training. Model characteristics allow for comparative analysis with individual parameters to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the athlete's preparedness, to form corrective and control training effects.
The aim of the study is to develop model characteristics of morphotypological and psychomotor status of highly qualified male athletes of different specialization.
Methodology and organization of the study. The study included: somatotyping (by the method of V. T. Shtefko and A. D. Ostrovsky (1929) in the modification of S. S. Darskaya (1975)), psychomotor testing (computer technique "Sports psychophysiologist" [2]). The study involved athletes involved in athletics level of MS, CMC, specializing in various disciplines of athletics (n=57 people).
The results of the study and their discussion. The study revealed that in the sample of male athletes specializing in sprint and hurdles, representatives of muscular body type prevail (82.6%), but there is also a thoracic body type (17.4%). In the sample of sprinters and hurdlers the highest level of reacting abilities in comparison with athletes of other specializations is revealed. In the sample of athletes specializing in middle-and long-distance running, representatives of asthenic body type prevail (100%), who have the highest level of indicators of sense of time. Representatives of asthenic body type (53,4%) predominate in jumping types of athletics, there are also representatives of muscular (26,6%) and thoracic (20%) body types, having the highest level of ability to assess accuracy and differentiation of spatial and power parameters of movement. In track and field throwing representatives of a digestive type of a Constitution prevail (66,7%), muscular type of a Constitution (33,3%) at which the highest level of ability to accuracy of an assessment and differentiation of spatial and power parameters of movement is revealed.
Summary. Based on the results of the study, quantitative model characteristics of psychomotor indicators of athletes of different body types are proposed, which can be used to control the psychomotor readiness of highly qualified athletes, as well as to apply at earlier stages of training for guidance and correction of the training process.
