Subject to the study were the terms and definitions applied in gymnastic disciplines with a focus on Olympics and with the gymnastics elements illustrated by music. The study demonstrates the need in the terminology related to physical practices in the key competitive gymnastics disciplines being unified for clarity of the terms, definitions and meanings of the relevant motor actions for the benefit of sport specialists, athletes, instructors and physical culture activists. We believe that a reasonable unification of the terminology and acronyms to define certain exercises will help exclude from the sport records and practices some odd terms and definitions with no detriment for understanding so as to ensure due clarity, brevity and wide applicability of the selected terms defining a variety of postures, movements and exercises in the national physical culture and sports sector.
