The Study of Coordination Abilities of Mongolian Schoolchildren

In the last 40 years numerous papers devoted to physical fitness levels of children, adolescents and youth have been published in Mongolia.
Sets of tests, including exercises aimed at manifestation of the basic motor qualities: strength, speed, endurance, agility and flexibility, are being elaborated to investigate motor fitness of different age and sex groups not involved in sports.
The purpose of the present study was to determine the indices of coordination abilities of schoolchildren from different aimaks of Mongolia and Ulan-Bator.
In general it can be noted that sex and age differences are observed in flexibility development. Agility develops better among boys rather than girls, indicating the difference of male and female biological maturation, i.e. men also differ from women by the more powerful development of the muscular system.
Significant differences were detected in the level of development of coordination abilities of schoolchildren in Mongolia. This can be due to not only the influence of climatic and environmental factors, but the methodology of organization of the lesson of physical education: regional curricula of physical education lessons should be designed for comprehensive schools of Mongolia.
