In accordance with the globalizing world trend the reform in the education system is being effectively implemented in Mongolia, which is reflected in physical education too.
The major role in the implementation of the goals of education belongs to the discipline of "Physical Education". And so physical education has become one of the major academic disciplines from the first days of the formation of the education system in Mongolia.
Due to the political changes that took place in Mongolia, physical education changed too, which was reflected in the content of the discipline "Physical Education".
The purpose of the present study was to analyze the historical state of education in the field of physical culture in secondary schools in Mongolia.
The first physical education curriculum was developed in Mongolia in 1925. It was aimed manily to the proper development of child's body as a whole. It was noted in this curriculum that clean air, sunshine and bodily movements are essential for the human health promotion. In addition, pupils need to walk in ranks outside the school, play various kinds of national and foreign games and learn the science of physical culture - gymnastics.
Taking into account the findings of the analysis of social and educational components obtained by scientists from different countries, we can distinguish not only quantitative characteristics such as volume of motor activity, amount of time of locomotions, intensity of pedagogical influence, ratio of content and load, but also qualitative aspects such as motivation, needs, interests and character, as well as the teacher-student interaction.
