There are over 400 baby homes, 745 orphanages and 237 boarding schools in Russia today where the number of children is close to one million. Specific, differing from the accepted norms of behavior, character traits, personality, qualities are being formed in children in these institutions and the problem is in the intensive formation of fundamentally different mechanisms, especially the mechanisms of adaptation to life in child welfare institutions, rather than in the lagging or underdeveloped personality structures. The purpose of the research was to develop methodological guidelines regarding readiness and motivation of future teachers to work with orphaned children and those who were left without parental care (hereinafter - orphaned children). The willingness to acquire knowledge, develop professional skills and personal qualities, to work with orphans has been developed in future physical education teachers with a bachelor's degree.
