Abstract

Objective of the study is to reveal the dynamic and kinematic indicators of the support period of the running stride of sprinters and to determine their role in ensuring the effectiveness of the interaction of the athlete with the supporting surface. Methods and structure of the study. Scientific articles, monographs and educational editions devoted to the biomechanics of motor activity, sports physiology and the theory of athletic training, published in domestic and foreign scientific editions, were used. Results and conclusions. The authors substantiate that the optimal interaction of the driving forces in the period of support in the structure of the running stride and the stability of the running technique are key factors of ensuring a high running speed in sprinting and its resistance to fatigue. It is noted that in elite-level sprinters the achievement of the minimal loss of speed in the amortisation phase due to the covering of a smaller distance to the vertical position and smaller time expenditure is confirmed by the results of research. The causes of the unstable running technique under fatigue, in the opinion of the authors, are the insufficient stability of the structure of the running stride and the weak reactivity of the muscular-ligamentous apparatus in the amortisation phase.
