Abstract
Objective of the study is the correction of the functions of the ankle joint in school-age children with flat feet, the improvement of their physical development and physical preparedness. Methods and structure of the study. Schoolchildren aged 9-12 took part in the scientific work. The arch of the foot was determined by the Streeter method, the level of physical development was studied by height, weight, hand dynamometry and chest circumference. The level of physical preparedness was determined by means of the standing long jump, the shuttle run, skipping-rope jumps and the test of raising the trunk from a lying position on the back. Results and conclusions. At the start of the study, no significant differences between the groups were revealed in the functional state of the arch of the foot (Streeter method), physical development (height, weight, hand dynamometry, chest circumference) and physical preparedness (standing long jump, 4×10 m shuttle run, trunk raising, skipping-rope jumps) (p>0.05), which confirms the homogeneity of the groups. At the same time, the analysis of the mean indicators showed that in the children of the experimental group the feet are more flattened, the hand dynamometry is worse, and the results of skipping-rope jumps are considerably lower than in the control group. The indicators of the strength of the flexor muscles of the toes in both groups turned out to be below the age norm, and the trunk-raising test – at a below-average level.
