Abstract

Objective of the study is to improve the general physical preparedness of adolescents with lesions of the musculoskeletal system by means of adaptive sport. Methods and structure of the study. An experiment was conducted with the participation of adolescents with lesions of the musculoskeletal system specialising in sledge hockey (24 persons: 15 subjects had a diagnosis of cerebral palsy; 9 subjects had a diagnosis of Spina Bifida). The average age of the respondents was 11+0.98 years. In the course of the experiment, a methodology of the complex rehabilitation of adolescents with lesions of the musculoskeletal system (LMS), based on the application of the means of adaptive sport, was introduced. For the diagnostics of the ability to move, tests were used taking into account the nosology (cerebral palsy or Spina Bifida) and the motor capabilities of the adolescent with a disability. Results and conclusions. Over the period of the experiment, the results of the groups of respondents in which the work was conducted on the basis of the developed methodology with a purposeful selection of exercises, competent dosing of the load, and an optimal ratio of correctional exercises, exercises on an unstable support and exercises from the general-physical-preparation block, became significantly higher in all the indicators studied. The obtained results can be used in the practice of the work of specialists in adaptive physical culture in the course of diagnostic, correctional and rehabilitation measures, and in the preparation of Paralympians.
