Abstract

Objective of the study is to develop, theoretically substantiate and present the results of the practical approbation of a model of the content of the technical-tactical preparation of students in volleyball, ensuring the consistent mastering of the educational material and a system of control norms coordinated with it within the framework of the discipline ‘Elective Physical Culture and Sport’. Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work was conducted from September 2024 to May 2026 on the basis of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The methods of analysis of the scientific-methodological literature and normative documents, the generalisation of pedagogical experience, pedagogical observation and mathematical statistics were applied. The general array included 886 protocol observations. The preparation was carried out over the course of 4 semesters, 54 hours of practical classes each. Results and conclusions. The proposed model provides for the mastering of basic technique, the formation of game interactions, voluntary specialisation by role and the application of specialised actions in game conditions. The system of technical control corresponds to the content of each stage of teaching. In the first year, passes, the attacking hit and the serve into large target zones are assessed, while in the second, the reception of the serve with a set to a given zone, a directed serve, a pass into a trainer-target and an attacking hit against a modelled block taking into account the chosen role. Statistically significant differences between young men and women were established in 6 of the 16 norms, predominantly in the serve and the attacking hit. The model can be used for planning the content of preparation and developing a system of control for the educational module ‘Volleyball’ at a university.
