Abstract

Objective of the study is the assessment of the factor structure of the predisposition to the manifestation of various physical qualities and the functional state of women engaged in fitness. Methods and structure of the study. The experiment was conducted at the N.I. Volkov Department of Biochemistry and Bioenergetics of Sport and at a fitness club. 30 women aged 25-35 took part in the experiment. Anthropometric, constitutional and functional indicators were assessed. The calculation of the components of the somatotype was performed. For the index-based assessment of physical development, the following were calculated: the Pignet index, the Erisman index, the Quetelet index, the body mass index (BMI), the chest excursion (CE = chest circumference on inhalation – chest circumference on exhalation), heart rate, vital capacity of the lungs. A tapping test and an aerobic test on a bicycle ergometer were used. On the basis of the obtained parameters, the level of physical development was determined by the method of indices with a point-based system. Results and conclusions. The examined indicators of the functional state differ substantially in the groups of women of different somatotypes engaged in fitness. The greatest contribution to the division into groups is made by the points of the somatotype, the results of the tapping test (the 1st and 4th squares), the Robinson index, and muscle and fat mass. The given indicators are part of the factors constituting the factor structure of the functional state and the predisposition to the manifestation of physical qualities in women of different somatotypes engaged in fitness. The obtained results make it possible to optimise the training process taking into account the individual-typological features of women of different ages.
