Abstract
Objective of the study is to theoretically substantiate and systematise the methodological approaches to the study of the influence of football on the development of the personality of an adolescent, as well as to develop practical recommendations for the purposeful formation of soft skills in the training process. Methods and structure of the study. Within the framework of the theoretical-methodological study, an analysis of the scientific literature from the 1970s to the present was conducted with the aim of tracing the evolution of the approaches to the understanding of the role of sport, including football, in the development of the personality. Results and conclusions. Effective methods of developing soft skills are psychological training, game modelling, problem-based learning, the delegation of responsibility, video analysis and mentoring. Their integration into the training process requires a systemic approach and the taking into account of age-related features. Adolescence is sensitive for the formation of soft skills thanks to the intensive development of self-awareness, reflection, the need for self-affirmation and communication with peers. The sports team acts as a natural environment for the satisfaction of these age-related needs. Football as a team sport possesses a special potential thanks to its dynamism, collective character, emotional intensity and cognitive complexity.
