Abstract
Objective of the study is to assess the influence of phygital sport on the formation of students’ interest in physical culture and sport classes within the framework of training sessions at a university. Methods and structure of the study. The functional and psycho-emotional states of the students were determined by the ‘WAM’ (well-being, activity, mood) method. First-year students of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, mastering the discipline ‘Elective disciplines in physical culture and sport’, section ‘Combat sports (boxing),’ were involved in the study. Results and conclusions. To achieve the set aim, a decision was made to divide the training process into two stages (with a duration of two months each). At the first stage (February, March), the students studied according to the standard programme (boxing) in the sports hall. At the second stage (April, May), phygital sport with a duration of 20 minutes was included in the training process. Before and after each training session (over the course of the two stages), the students underwent the WAM test. Phygital sport did not exert any significant influence on the formation of students’ interest in physical culture and sport training sessions. However, a tendency towards a decrease in the WAM results by the middle and the end of the second stage was revealed. It was noticed that the students demonstrated a greater interest in the game ‘Undisputed’ (boxing) on the Sony PlayStation 5 console, in contrast to the traditional boxing classes in the sports hall. The introduction of phygital sport into the process of the physical education of students requires a more prolonged and in-depth study of this question.
