Abstract

Objective of the study is to conduct an analysis of the structure, content and organisation of the training process of ice hockey players of the ‘League of Hope 18+’ division of the NHL. Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work was conducted from January to March 2026 with the participation of 86 amateur ice hockey players from 6 teams of the Sverdlovsk Oblast and 12 amateur ice hockey players from 1 team of the Moscow Oblast. Observation of 60 training sessions was also conducted. The following methods were used: analysis of the training plans of the teams, questionnaire survey, pedagogical observation (chronometry and the recording of content). Results and conclusions. On the basis of the pedagogical observation of 60 sessions, the questionnaire survey of 98 respondents and the analysis of the training plans of 7 teams, the structure, content and organisation of preparation were revealed. An imbalance of the types of preparation was established, with a predominance of special physical preparation (36% of the time) with an insufficient volume of tactical (14%) and recovery (5%) work. The main problems were determined: the absence of a unified methodology (82%), a deficit of material-technical provision (68%), the heterogeneity of the fitness of the players (55%). The necessity of developing an integral methodology of the preparation of amateur teams taking into account the time and organisational constraints was substantiated.
