Abstract

Objective of the study is to substantiate the pedagogical conditions of teaching students volleyball at agrarian universities using special equipment and training devices and to assess the results of their practical realisation according to the data of a survey of coaches and physical monitoring. Methods and structure of the study. At the diagnostic stage, an electronic questionnaire survey of 21 coaches of student teams from Moscow and a number of regions of Russia was conducted. The questionnaire included a general question about the regularity of the use of training means, 19 closed questions on individual kinds of equipment and an open question about the conditions of application. The pedagogical experiment lasted 24 training weeks; 28 volleyball players aged 18-25 took part in it, distributed into an experimental and a control group of 14 people each. In the experimental group, work with the special equipment took up 30-40% of the time of technical preparation. An additional stage-wise monitoring covered 20 players and included nine control exercises. Results and conclusions. The diagnostic-target, organisational-methodological, content-procedural, material-technical, control-assessment and personnel-safety conditions were substantiated. A pronounced heterogeneity of the equipping was established: expanders were applied by 100% of those surveyed, medicine balls and coordination ladders by 95.2%, whereas the volleyball cannon was used by 19.0%, the radar by 4.8%, and not a single coach applied the VERT system. Over the period of monitoring, positive dynamics were noted in all nine tests; the greatest changes were revealed in the pull-up (+20.2%), the mobility of the shoulder joint (+9.5%) and the throw of a medicine ball (+8.0%). The results make it possible to recommend the complex of pedagogical conditions for agrarian universities with different levels of equipping, provided that control is standardised and qualified support is ensured.
