Abstract
Objective of the study is to assess the dynamics of the physical capabilities of adolescents with delayed mental development who attended an adaptive football section and additionally engaged in gymnastics. Methods and structure of the study. Adolescents aged 12-13 with delayed mental development, distributed into a control group and two experimental groups, took part in the scientific work. Over the course of six months they were observed and their physical capabilities were tested at the beginning and upon its completion with the application of standard motor tests. The obtained data were processed using the Student’s t-test. Results and conclusions. It was established that adaptive football classes contribute to the improvement of the indicators of the physical fitness of adolescents with delayed mental development, whereby the combination of football training with gymnastics ensures a more pronounced positive dynamics of most indicators. The most pronounced changes were revealed in the observed adolescents in the development of coordination, flexibility and general endurance.
