The influence of hand-to-hand combat classes on the indicators of the physical development of students

Abstract

Objective of the study is to assess the influence of long-term hand-to-hand combat classes on the physical development of students. Methods and structure of the study. Male students aged 18-19, divided into a control and an experimental group, took part in the scientific work. The duration of the observation was 18 months. The young men of the experimental group regularly attended hand-to-hand combat training sessions. The assessment of the indicators was carried out three times: before the beginning of the study, after 9 months and after 18 months. Tests characterising the state of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, the level of endurance, strength and coordination were applied. The Student’s t-test was calculated. Results and conclusions. In the students of the experimental group, higher levels of the indicators of strength, endurance and coordination abilities, and a more advantageous functional state of the organism, were noted. In the control group no pronounced positive dynamics were recorded. It is clear that regular hand-to-hand combat classes exert a pronounced influence on the physical development of students and contribute to an increase in the adaptive capabilities of their organism.
