Abstract

Objective of the study is to trace the dynamics of the physical fitness of young swimmers who had previously suffered a coronavirus infection, over the annual training cycle. Methods and structure of the study. 28 male students aged 19 with a coronavirus infection in their anamnesis took part in the scientific work; they made up a control group of 12 people and an experimental group of 16 people who had begun systematic swimming classes 2 months earlier. The duration of the study was 12 months. Testing of physical fitness was conducted four times: at the beginning of the study and after 4, 8 and 12 months. Results and conclusions. In the experimental group, significant positive dynamics of the indicators of strength, speed capabilities, endurance, movement coordination and flexibility were revealed. In the control group the changes were of a limited nature and corresponded to age-related development. It is clear that swimming classes exert a pronounced stimulating effect on a young organism that has previously suffered a coronavirus infection.
