Introduction. The strategy for the development of the Olympic movement, implemented by the Russian Olympic Committee, considers the cooperation of physical culture and sports universities with the regional Olympic academies operating on their basis as one of the priorities for the development of Olympic education.

The aim of the study is to analyze the forms of cooperation between physical culture and sports universities and regional Olympic academies as a key element of the strategy for the development of Olympic education in Russia.

Methodology and organization of the study. The forms of cooperation were studied using the example of the Moscow region, where the main physical culture and sports university is the Russian University of Sport "GTSOLIFK", and the regional Olympic academy is the Central Olympic Academy. The former is a federal state budgetary educational institution, while the latter is a regional public organization.

Results and discussion. Despite a similar field of activity—education—the different forms of legal entity organization determine the specifics of the joint work of the two organizations [1, 2]. Due to the strict regulation of the main educational work of the state organization, the joint work of RUS "GTSOLIFK" and the COA mainly takes place within the framework of scientific, external, and additional educational events.
Some of the most established forms of scientific cooperation between the two organizations include: the annual holding of the All-Russian Olympic Scientific Session of Young Scientists and Students of Russia on the basis of RUS "GTSOLIFK"; long-term cooperation with the International Olympic Academy (Olympia, Greece) and the IOC Olympic Studies Centre (Lausanne, Switzerland); the compilation of the annual collection of scientific materials "Olympic Bulletin", which publishes the results of scientific works by leading scientists and specialists of the university and the COA, as well as universities and regional Olympic academies of Russia; the International Forum of Young Olympians—an annual event organized by the Russian Olympic Committee; the development of the module "Universal Values of Physical Culture and Sports" for Olympic reserve schools; the involvement of COA representatives in additional educational initiatives implemented by RUS "GTSOLIFK" (the all-Russian educational campaigns "Olympic Dictation" and "Sports Dictation"); the additional general developmental program "Start into Science", implemented on the basis of RUS "GTSOLIFK" and designed for students in grades 5–6; and the "School of the Olympic Volunteer" project.

Conclusions. The specifics of the legal status of the involved organizations determine the format of cooperation, shifting the focus to scientific, external, and additional educational activities. Such forms of interaction make it possible to flexibly and effectively achieve common goals: to accumulate scientific potential, train personnel, implement innovative educational methods, and popularize the ideals of Olympism among various segments of the population.
