The aim of the study is to determine the level of physical fitness of female football players from university teams based on the standards of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex "GTO" and to identify areas for improving the general physical training of the athletes.
Methodology and organization of the study. The research involved twenty-four female football players aged 18–22 from university sports teams. Testing was conducted in the off-season according to the main standards of the GTO complex for this age group: 30 m sprint, 2 km run, standing long jump, push-ups, and forward bend from a standing position. The obtained results were compared with the standards for the GTO gold badge; data processing included calculating mean values and the percentage of standards met [1].
Results and discussion. The analysis of the results showed that the majority of the football players demonstrated a high level of speed and endurance qualities. The average result for the 30 m sprint was 4.8±0.3 s, which meets and exceeds the requirements for the GTO gold badge. The 2 km run indicators (9 min 30 s±25 s) also indicate a good level of endurance. In the standing long jump, the athletes scored 190±12 cm, which is above the average level of the complex's standards. At the same time, the results of tests characterizing strength and flexibility turned out to be somewhat lower. The average number of push-ups was 19±3 repetitions, which does not allow most participants to meet the gold badge standard. Flexibility indicators (forward bend – 14±4 cm) also did not reach the upper limits of the requirements.
Thus, the football players possess pronounced speed-strength fitness and endurance, but require additional attention to the development of upper body strength and flexibility. These results confirm the need for a comprehensive approach to the training process, including not only specific loads but also general physical training aimed at the all-round improvement of physical abilities.
Conclusions. Comparing the level of physical fitness with the GTO standards made it possible to establish that performing the complex can serve as an objective tool for assessing the general physical fitness of female football players, and regular testing according to these standards will be an effective means of monitoring and motivating the improvement of physical fitness levels.
