Abstract

Objective of the study is to assess the influence of the application of specialised training devices on the technical-tactical indicators and the final result of a student volleyball team in the competitive period. Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work was conducted within the framework of the training process and competitive activity throughout the season from October 2025 to May 2026. 28 volleyball players took part in the pedagogical experiment: 14 people in the experimental group and 14 people in the control group. The age of the athletes was from 18 to 25 years, having a sporting qualification from the 2nd category to Candidate Master of Sports. Results and conclusions. The analysis of the data obtained in the course of the pedagogical experiment revealed a significant (p<0.05) advantage of the experimental group, which applied training devices, over the control group. The athletes learned to vary the type of serve depending on the game situation, promptly correcting tactics on the basis of the data of the ‘speed radar’ trainer, which made it possible to increase the efficiency coefficient of the power and float serve. A significant contribution to the growth of the result-effectiveness was made by the application of the ‘volleyball cannon’: the device made it possible to standardise the speed, trajectory and rotation of the ball, which increased the percentage of quality ball reception in competitive activity. The use of the ‘block for technique’ trainer made it possible to purposefully perfect the synchronicity of the jump and the accuracy of the placement of the hands when blocking. For setters, the ‘ring for the setting player’ was of great importance: the accuracy of the overhand and underhand pass into the set zones increased. This methodology ensures the individualisation of preparation through the purposeful correction of weak links on the basis of objective instrumental data.
