The socio-cultural nature of overcoming double standards in international sports

Abstract

Objective of the study is to identify effective strategies for overcoming double standards in the context of the systemic crisis of the international sports movement. Methods and structure of the study. In accordance with the purpose of the study, a theoretical analysis of scientific literature on the problems of socio-cultural dynamics, sports diplomacy, and political aspects of the international sports movement was applied. Results and conclusions. It has been established that double standards in modern international sports are a natural consequence of the deep value crisis that has engulfed the international sports movement. It can be argued that the most viable model for overcoming double standards is a combined strategy that combines four areas: non-public diplomatic dialogue, legal protection through arbitration institutions, the formation of alternative multilateral platforms (BRICS, SCO), and the development of professional and humanitarian projects (science, medicine, and junior sports) that are least susceptible to political pressure.
