Abstract

Objective of the study is, on the basis of an analysis of luge and bobsleigh tracks of a number of countries, to develop an algorithm of the pilot’s actions for navigating various track elements. Methods and structure of the study. To solve the tasks, the following research methods were applied: literature review, information collection, questionnaire survey. Issues related to piloting in bobsleigh on tracks with various profiles were examined. The most popular tracks of Europe, the USA and Canada were analysed. The most well-known turns were identified. The questionnaire survey was conducted with the aim of determining the algorithm and rules of the pilot’s actions on the track. Results and conclusions. An algorithm and rules for navigating the track were developed, which will allow athletes to improve their level of mastery and achieve high sporting results at competitions of various levels.
