Abstract

Objective of the study is to analyse the differences between the concept of “psychological reliability” of athletes’ activities and related concepts (primarily interference resistance), and to identify the components of psychological reliability in game sports (using football as an example). Methods and structure of the study. A theoretical analysis of scientific literature on the issues of psychological reliability and interference resistance in sport was conducted, studying the positions of various authors (A.N. Leontiev, G.D. Gorbunov, P.K. Anokhin, A.K. Astafiev, V.G. Pushkin and others). Results and conclusions. The indicators of the reliability of competitive activity of football players were systematised; physical, technical, tactical and psychological components were identified. A comparative analysis of the concepts of “reliability” and “interference resistance” was conducted with the identification of key differences (the results are presented in tabular form); reliability assessment criteria were operationalised: objective and subjective criteria were determined for each component (for example, stability of physical form during a match, passing accuracy, correct positioning, emotional stability, etc.).
