The effect of Shuaijiao Chinese wrestling training on students’ temperament and volitional selfregulation

Objective of the study is to conduct a comparative assessment of the impact of Shuajiao Chinese wrestling training on the temperament and volitional self-regulation of first-year students.
Methods and structure of the study. As part of the study, the Chinese martial art of Shuaijiao was introduced and tested within the physical education curriculum, with the aim of experimentally verifying its influence on temperament traits and volitional self-regulation. The study involved 120 first-year male students from Patrice Lumumba Russian University of Friendship of Peoples. The experiment was conducted over the course of one academic year, twice a week for two academic hours.
Results and conclusions. At the start of the experiment, no significant differences were found between the groups. At the end of the experiment, it was found that the use of the Chinese martial art Shuaijiao in the physical education of students has an effective and positive impact on the formation of temperamental traits. Similar results were obtained when examining levels of volitional self-regulation, which is confirmed by statistically significant indicators across all parameters under consideration.
