Objective of the study is to determine the level and identify the neuromotor mechanisms regulating statokinetic stability in elite athletes in the context of various sporting activities.
Methods and structure of the study. The research was conducted at the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sport of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism. A total of 227 male participants, actively involved in sport for at least nine years and holding sports qualifications ranging from the second adult category to Master of Sport of the Russian Federation, were studied. Stato-kinetic stability was assessed using a stabilisation platform with biofeedback in a state of relative rest.
Results and conclusions. A comparison was made of stato-kinetic stability indicators among highly qualified athletes representing cyclic, precision and situational sports, as well as non-athletes. It was found that athletes in cyclic sports demonstrate higher average linear velocities of the centre of pressure and rates of change in the area of the statokinetic diagram compared to representatives of precision and situational sports. At the same time, they exhibit the lowest value of the integral indicator of balance function quality. This is explained by more refined regulation of the statokinetic system and a lower rate of centre of pressure oscillation in athletes practising precision and situational sports.
