Introduction. Vegetative disorders are usually found among young women and are diagnosed as vegetative vascular dystonia (VSD) [1]. VSD of the hypotonic type is often found among female students engaged in physical education in a special medical department. Physical exercises can be introduced into the work and rest regime of female students as preventive measures to prevent the occurrence of persistent disorders due to a decrease in blood pressure.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of recreational gymnastics on the blood pressure indicators of female students with hypotonic type IHD.
Methodology and organization of research. The research involved female students of the North Caucasus Federal University with vegetative vascular dystonia (n=28), who were divided into two groups. The experimental group consists of female students who additionally do recreational gymnastics mainly in an isometric mode (+4 academic hours per week), and the control group consists of female students who receive a standard amount of physical activity only in the form of compulsory physical education classes. Arterial pressure (BP) was measured taking into account circadian and circoseptal rhythms.
The results of the study and their discussion. At the beginning of the academic year, systolic blood pressure (SAD) in female students with hypotonic vegetative vascular dystonia was determined at 106.07±2.58 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure (DBP) was 66.86±1.68 mmHg, and pulse pressure was 39.20±1.21 mmHg. Deviation from the norm (120/80) SAD was 11.7%, DBP – 17.5% mmHg. According to the literature, hypotension is already diagnosed when blood pressure levels deviate from the norm by 20 percent or more [1], and there are still no exact criteria for this disease.
Comparing the blood pressure indicators of female students with VSD according to the hypotonic type of the experimental and control groups, it was found that at the end of the academic year, an increase in SAD and DBP was observed in both groups. However, in the control group, the increase was 5.5% and 8.3%, respectively (p>0.5), and in female students with hypotonic type IHD engaged in recreational gymnastics, the increase in SAD was 10.2%, DBP – 10.8% (p<0.05). There were no significant changes in the pulse pressure data.
Conclusion. Recreational gymnastics exercises have a positive effect on the activity of the circulatory system in female students with hypotonic type IHD, increasing blood pressure levels to standard values. Practicing health-improving gymnastics in the isometric mode can be recommended as a preventive measure to prevent the risks of arterial hypotension.
