Using mindfitness to develop cognitive abilities in students of a special medical group

Objective of the study is to experimentally substantiate the influence of smart watches and mobile applications on students' endurance and speed indicators in physical education.
Methods and structure of the study. The study involved 100 students of higher educational institutions aged 18 to 22, studying in the 1st to 3rd years and admitted to physical education classes in a special medical group. The students were divided into experimental and control groups of fifty people each. The formative stage included an 8-week (2-month) pedagogical experiment, during which the experimental group used smart watches and a mobile application to monitor physical activity, while the control group followed a traditional physical education programme without the use of digital tools.
Results and conclusions. A comprehensive analysis of the results of the experimental study led to the conclusion that the use of smart watches and a mobile application has a multifactorial positive effect on the physical fitness of students. The most pronounced effect was recorded in indicators of aerobic endurance; functional indicators of the cardiovascular system; and resistance to physical exertion. Monitoring the intensity of the load, visualising progress, and regular feedback contributed to the formation of a more rational motor regime among students in the experimental group.
