Effectiveness of implementing an additional general education programme on computer sports

Objective of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing an additional general education programme on computer sports in a school sports club.
Methods and structure of the study. The experimental part of the study was conducted at School No. 1 (Alkhazurovo) and covered 10th grade students studying an additional general education programme on computer sports (n=20). A pedagogical experiment, psychophysiological testing (assessment of the speed of simple and complex sensorimotor reactions, stability, concentration and attention switching), as well as methods of mathematical data processing were used.
Results and conclusions. The results of the programme testing revealed positive dynamics in all psychophysiological indicators studied, expressed in a statistically significant improvement in the speed of simple and complex sensorimotor reactions, increased stability and concentration of attention, as well as a reduction in the time taken to complete attention switching tasks.
The results confirm the advisability of using computer sports as a pedagogically organised form of physical education and sports activities for students in a school sports club.
