Objective of the study is to identify the key factors of students' psychophysiological adaptation to regular cardio-strength training based on factor analysis.
Methods and structure of the study. 74 students participated in the experiment. They assessed their condition before and after classes, and the Ruffier index (RI) was measured. A quantitative analysis of trends was conducted to identify the dynamics of each indicator as classes accumulated. The principal component method was used to identify latent factors determining adaptation.
Results and conclusions. The results of the study confirm and supplement the literature data on the psychophysiological adaptation of students to physical activity. Based on the analysis, it is recommended to integrate motivational strategies into cardio-strength training programmes to maintain a high level of motivation and emotional stability. Factor analysis identified five factors explaining 85% of the variance, with the leading first factor combining motivation (r = 0.95), emotional stability (r = 0.92) and physiological indicators. This emphasises the role of psychological readiness in adaptation. Implement motivational strategies (individual goals), monitor IR weekly (critical when the difference is >3), ensure 7–9 hours of sleep and a balanced diet. This will increase students' resistance to stressors [3].

Keywords: psychophysiological adaptation, factor analysis, Ruffier index, physical activity.
