The effectiveness of the technology for selecting athletically gifted children and forming groups for improving figure skating skills

Objective of the study is to improve the effectiveness of the technology for selecting gifted children in sports and forming groups for improving sports skills.
Methods and structure of the study. An analysis and summary of pedagogical, psychological, and medical-biological literature on the research problem, pedagogical observations, questionnaires, and a comparative analysis of competition results were conducted. Statistical data processing was carried out using the Wilcoxon method. The study was conducted in the 2024-2025 academic and training year with the participation of 16 coaches from sports schools in the Russian Federation.
Results and conclusions. The research of a number of authors was analysed, a comparative analysis of the competition protocols of the Junior Championships in single skating for the period from 2020 to 2025 (six years) was carried out, and model characteristics were identified that allow to increase the effectiveness of the technology for selecting figure skaters.
