Factors in the development of speed skills in young sprinter swimmers

Objective of the study is to investigate the integrated influence of somatic characteristics and kinematic indicators on the swimming speed of young sprinters.
Methods and structure of the study. The indicators of 22 sprinters aged 14.5±0.9 years (10 athletes with an ectomorphic somatotype and 12 with a mesomorphic somatotype) were studied. To determine the relationship between swimming speed, somatic characteristics and technical indicators, partial correlation coefficients were calculated.
Results and conclusions. It was found that the formation of a new neurophysiological state, which determines an increase in stroke indicators as predictors of swimming speed, significantly depends on the total body length and metric indicators of the linear characteristics of the biomechanical links of the swimmer's body.
