Objective of the study is to assess the impact of submaximal power training loads, organised using a circuit training method, on the functional condition of female athletes in combat sports, team sports and sports requiring complex coordination during the preparatory period.
Methods and structure of the study. The scientific research was conducted at the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health, with the participation of female athletes who are members of the national teams of the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. Methods of analysis and generalisation of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observation, pedagogical testing, and mathematical and statistical data processing were used.
Results and conclusions. According to the data obtained, an increase in strength endurance and aerobic-anaerobic performance was established. Morphofunctional shifts in body composition were identified – a decrease in resting heart rate and blood pressure, BMI, and fat component of the subjects was noted. It was shown that parameters such as the proportion of muscle and water mass and psycho-emotional stability increased at the end of the study. The results obtained allow us to conclude that it is advisable to introduce circular training exercises that contribute to an increase in overall physical fitness.
Keywords: functional state, adaptive shifts, working capacity.
