Objective of the study is to identify and rank occupational diseases in athletes that contribute to the occurrence of sports injuries.
Methods and structure of the study. An analysis of domestic and foreign scientific literature on the issue of occupational injuries and illnesses in sport was conducted, as well as a pedagogical observation method. The research was organised in the following stages: identification of factors contributing to the morbidity of athletes, determination and ranking of illnesses that influence the occurrence of sports injuries, according to their frequency of occurrence.
Results and conclusions. The study made it possible to systematise knowledge about the impact of diseases on the occurrence of sports injuries, which will facilitate the search for and justification of methodological approaches to the diagnosis and prevention of occupational diseases in athletes, as well as the creation of effective systems for maintaining the health of athletes at all stages of their sporting careers.
