Objective of the study is to identify the relationship between external and internal stress in taekwondo WTF athletes in competitive conditions.
Methods and structure of the study. To achieve the research objective, a pedagogical experiment was conducted with n=8 male athletes weighing between 54 and 87+ kg who participated in the All-Russian WTF Taekwondo Competition among students, which served as a qualifier for the 2025 Summer World University Games. The average age of the athletes was 19±1 years, height: 183±8.7 cm, body mass index: 21.6±3, experience in the chosen sport: 12.8±1.8 years, sports qualification from candidate master of sports to master of sports.
Results and conclusions. An analysis of the dynamics of the number of strikes delivered in a competitive match showed a change in the intensity of technical actions by round. The average number of strikes performed in the first round is 36±12, in the second round there is a decrease in strikes performed to 29±9, and in the third round there is a slight increase to 32±4. The total number of strikes per match reaches 73±21 strikes.
Competitive taekwondo WTF matches are characterised by high intensity with a predominance of anaerobic energy supply, which is confirmed by a critical increase in blood lactate concentration to 11-20.6 mmol/l after the end of the match.
Keywords: taekwondo WTF, number of strikes, lactate, competitive match.
