Objective of the study is to develop the coordination ability of younger schoolchildren using the simulation aid "coordination ladder".
Methods and structure of the study. 104 second grade students (10-11 years old) participated in the study aimed at studying the effect of additional exercises on coordination an ordinary school. During the school year, children attended physical education classes twice a week. The students of the control group (grades 2A and 2B) studied according to the standard school curriculum. The students of the experimental group (grades 2B and 2G), in addition to the usual program, performed a set of exercises on the coordination ladder for 5-6 minutes during each physical education lesson.
Results and conclusions. In the course of the study, it was found that in the control group that followed the standard program, the results of the "jumping in place" test improved slightly (by 9.1%, p>0.05). At the same time, in the experimental group where the coordination ladder was used, there was a significant increase (29.2%, p<0.05) in the ability to connect movements. This indicates the effectiveness of using the coordination ladder in the educational process for children aged 10-11 years and allows us to recommend its inclusion in physical education lessons as an addition to the standard curriculum.
