Objective of the study. The main focus of this research project is to determine the impact of the frequency and duration of pre-start training on the athletic achievements of sprint swimmers.
Methods and structure of the study. Three approaches to warm-up exercises of the same volume have been studied: long (3 km), short (1.5 km) and intensive (1 km). The duration of the 100 m distance and the time index of the first 50 meters were measured. The main parameters included the duration and intensity of pre-workout training.
Results and conclusions. It has been established that in order to achieve high athletic results in sprint swimming, it is equally possible to use both long-term and short-term (up to 1,500 m) warm-up in the water. High-intensity warm-up and a short rest period before the start (10 min) they have a detrimental effect on swimming results.
