Introduction. Objective indicators of the functional maturity of neuromuscular synapses are an increase in their excitability, acceleration of the transmission of excitation from the nerve to the muscle, and an increase in the speed of the contractile act. Thus, there are the necessary prerequisites for learning complexly coordinated technical skills and tactical actions in volleyball.
The purpose of this study is to provide a scientific and theoretical basis for the relationship between cognitive indicators and the technical capabilities of young volleyball players.
Methodology and organization of research. Athletes participated in the scientific work carried out at the Olympian Sports School.‑volleyball players of the 2nd year of study. Methods have been introduced in the main part of the training process, which determines the cognitive potential of athletes.: "Put up the badges" (R. S. Nemov); Shulte's Tables; Pieron-Ruser's method, Tapping Test, and practicing technical skills in pairs, trios, and fours with changing the direction of the ball, the speed of the pass, and the reaction to receiving a moving object.
Research results and their discussion. Speed and coordination abilities were determined by tests: 30 m run; 5x6 m shuttle run; Christmas tree test to determine the starting speed and agility associated with changing the direction of movement and alternating acceleration and braking at different sections; reaction test to a moving object. Snake race: the performance level in the control group was 19.30%, while in the experimental group it was 29.94%. 5x6 m shuttle run: the increase in the control group was 5.95%, while in the experimental group it was 14.43%. The Snake test showed an increase of 17.24% in the control group and 19.31% in the experimental group.
Conclusions. The conducted study proved the effectiveness of the applied methodology and test tasks in the training process of young volleyball players. The method can be used both to improve the overall functional preparedness of athletes in the preparatory stage and to enhance specific qualities in the pre-competition stage. Thanks to the implementation of a comprehensive approach, young volleyball players perform complex-coordinated technical skills and tactical actions in the game of volleyball more effectively.
