Objective of the study is aimed at studying the views of students on self-esteem and improving their psychophysical abilities.
Methods and structure of the study. As part of a specialized protocol, students' behavior was monitored in the process of passing the TRP standards. In parallel, a number of psychological characteristics of students were evaluated. 46 students studying at the Russian State Art and Industrial University named after S.G. Stroganov became the object of observation.
Research results and conclusions. There is a lack of interest among students in self-analysis and evaluation of their psychophysiological and mental qualities. Moreover, a significant proportion of students have insufficiently developed coordination of movements, which is manifested in tests of motor dexterity. This can be regarded as an omission in the process of physical development and education in childhood and adolescence. Probably, many students do not fully understand that modern life involves a constant struggle for prestigious jobs and a high standard of living. This fact, concerning the psychocognitive sphere of Russian students and young professionals, raises concerns and requires a deeper study.
Keywords: psychocognitive properties, desire for career growth, GTO tests.
