Introduction. In the context of the globalisation of education, it is becoming increasingly important to analyse the structural features of programmes for training specialists in the field of physical education. The Russian University of Sport and Henan University (China) offer bachelor's degree programmes that reflect national approaches to education [1, 2].
The aim of the study is to identify key differences in the structure of disciplines and the distribution of credits in order to optimise educational models.
Research methodology and organisation. To achieve the set goal, the study used methods of comparative analysis and content analysis of educational programmes: 49.03.01 ‘Physical Culture’ at RUS ‘GTSOLIFK’ and programme 040303 ‘Physical Culture’ at Henan University.
Research results and discussion. The analysis revealed key differences in the structure of the programmes. The Russian programme (RUS) has a fixed 4-year term with 44 compulsory and 22 optional disciplines, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary training (anatomy, management, scientific activity). This trains versatile specialists with a broad profile. At Henan University, the programme is more flexible (3-7 years) with an emphasis on practice (20 credits) and specialisation. A total of 16 compulsory subjects are complemented by 36 electives, allowing students to study specific areas in depth (sports law, biomechanics). This approach is geared towards training teachers for schools.
Conclusions. The Russian programme offers a broader range of interdisciplinary knowledge, while the Chinese programme is more specialised and aimed at training participants in the educational process for schools.
