The purpose of the study is to study the development of strength qualities and flexibility in young athletes at the initial stage of training.
Methodology and organization of research. The scientific work was carried out on the basis of Secondary School No. 44 named after A. V. Salugin. The study involved 44 boys aged 10-11 who were engaged in kickboxing. Dynamometry and the "Pull-up on a high crossbar" motor test were used to assess strength qualities. The "Forward tilt" and "Twisting of the gymnastic stick" motor tests were used to assess flexibility.
The results of the study and their discussion. It was found that the average strength indicators of the majority of young athletes are within the normal range and amount to 10 ± 2.54 kg according to wrist dynamometry, and 5 ± 2.03 kg according to the motor test "Pull–up on the crossbar". These data indicate a high level of preparation of young kickboxers in the framework of the development of strength qualities.
An analysis of the development of flexibility in young kickboxers showed that the data of the "Twist of the gymnastic stick" is 82 ± 3.52 cm. The indicators of "Forward Tilt" were 2 ± 1.02 cm. These studies show that the level of flexibility development among young kickboxers is "below average."
Considering the results obtained, it can be concluded that when choosing the means of training young athletes, much attention is paid to the development of strength qualities. At the same time, it should be noted that the directed development of strength qualities can reduce flexibility in children due to the high tension of muscle fibers.
In this regard, stretching is recommended in the training of young kickboxers. This will allow you to stretch tense muscles, improve their elasticity, which in turn will have a positive effect on the contractility of muscle groups and will contribute to the growth of strength indicators.
Conclusions. It has been established that a large number of strength training equipment is used in the process of training young athletes. This is evidenced by the high level of development of strength qualities, while the level of flexibility is "below average". There is a need to include relaxation and stretching exercises in training sessions. The use of stretching exercises will create the necessary elasticity of the muscles, contributing to the development of the studied indicators equally.
