Introduction. In recent years, the promotion of student sports in China has been actively supported by government policy, which has allowed the formation of a model focused on the comprehensive development of students in the educational system.
The purpose of the study is to identify the factors influencing the development of student sports in China.
Methodology and organization of research. A survey of Chinese university students was conducted in the period 2023-2024. The total number of participants is 357 people.
The results of the study and their discussion. According to the results of the study, students highly appreciate the influence of personal factors on participation in sports: the average score is 4.24 out of 5 possible. For comparison, the family's influence on sports is estimated at 3.89 points. In the statistical analysis, the standardized coefficient of the path of personal factors in the development of student sports was 0.85 (t = 19.951, p<0.001), which indicates their significant and powerful influence. The standardized coefficient of the path of social factors is 0.96 (t = 25.334, p<0.001), and university–related factors is 0.91 (t = 24.576, p<0.001), which indicates their strong positive impact on the development of student sports. At the same time, the coefficient of the path of family factors is 0.81 (t = 21.041, p<0.001), which also emphasizes their significant influence. Since all these coefficients exceed 0.6, this further confirms the key role of these factors as the main engines for the development of student sports.
Conclusions. The results of the study show that the development of student sports in China is determined by the influence of many factors, among which personal characteristics occupy a central place, receiving the highest marks in the perception of students. The family, although it exerts some influence, shows relatively less importance compared to other key aspects, such as support from educational institutions and society.
In addition, the data confirm the importance of an integrated approach to the development of student sports, in which personal, family, educational and social factors must interact to create favorable conditions. Such results are the basis for the development of strategies aimed at optimizing the management of student sports and increasing its effectiveness in shaping a healthy lifestyle among young people.
