Sedentary lifestyle in middleaged people: current challenges and consequences

The purpose of the study is to actualize modern problems and factors associated with insufficient physical activity in middle–aged people.
Methodology and organization of research. The analysis of domestic and foreign studies on sedentary lifestyle, as well as statistical data from the World Health Organization (WHO), is carried out.
Research results and conclusions. It has been shown that physical inactivity in middle-aged people is a serious public health problem that has a direct impact on health and life expectancy. Lack of physical activity contributes to the development of obesity, diseases of the cardiovascular system, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The authors present recommendations for increasing the physical activity of middle-aged people.
