Objective of the study was to determine the effectiveness of a comprehensive physical education and health-improving method for increasing stress resistance in Chinese students during a pandemic.
Methods and structure of the study. A battery of psychodiagnostic tests was used in the work. All measurement procedures were carried out before the experiment and after its completion. A control group (engaged in physical education according to the university program) and two experimental groups were formed from student volunteers who were in conditions of social isolation. They were additionally engaged in aerobics (EG-1 «Aerobics») and running (EG-2, «Running») in accordance with the developed complex physical education and health methodology.
Results and conclusions. Adaptation to social isolation conditions is complicated by situational determinants that can provoke psychoemotional disorders in students, worsen interpersonal relationships, deform the self-concept, and worsen physical and mental health. The comprehensive physical education and health methodology includes aerobic and athletics physical exercise programs, psychological training, monitoring, and psychological and pedagogical counseling to improve students stress resistance and mental health in conditions of social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of the developed comprehensive physical education and health methodology made it possible to increase stress resistance, form a holistic contour of psychophysiological regulation of activity, optimize relationships, and maintain students mental health in conditions of social isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic, which proves its effectiveness.
