Objective of the study: To identify the competitiveness of Russian gymnasts who competed exclusively in national tournaments due to international sanctions, in comparison with leading teams and athletes at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad.

Methods and structure of the study: The first stage included the analysis and expert evaluation of the results of the competitions at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad. Expert evaluation (judging) of the performances of Russian gymnasts at the 2024 Russian Championship and Cup with subsequent forecasting of the composition of the model team. Comparison of their results following these competitions with the winners and prize-winners of the Olympics.

Results and conclusions: The results of the Olympics revealed the complete and clearly expected, in accordance with the forecasts, dominance of the US gymnasts in the absence of their main rivals -- the Russian team. The competitiveness of Russian gymnasts can only be determined by the results they showed at the 2024 Russian Championship and Cup. It was revealed that both model teams, predicted based on the results of these tournaments, could theoretically win silver medals at the Olympics, losing only to the US team. In the individual championship and in individual events, Russian gymnasts could also compete for prizes.
