Introduction. The peculiarities of the competitive calendar in the top league of Russian women's basketball place high demands on the performance of female athletes over a long period. At the same time, the training process between team starts does not allow you to fully focus on solving the tasks of functional training. Training camps held during the preparatory period are the best option for improving the performance of the athlete's body [1].
The purpose of the study is to identify changes in the performance of qualified basketball players during the preparatory period of the game cycle.
Methodology and organization of the study. The training camps of ZHBC "CHSU-Atlanta" (Cheboksary) in the preparatory period were aimed at improving the functional capabilities and physical training of 15 qualified basketball players. A training program was implemented during the preparatory period, designed for one calendar month for two daily workouts. Classes were held on rough terrain (cross country, all-around, acceleration), on sand (special running, strength and jumping exercises), in the gym (exercises with weights and resistance), in the game room (technical and tactical training). To assess the performance, the Roufier test was used before and after the training camp. The subjects performed 30 squats in 30 seconds. Heart rate measurements were carried out before the start of the standard load in the sitting position (R1), immediately after its end in the standing position (R2) and 45 seconds after recovery in the sitting position (R3). The index was calculated using the standard formula: (R1+R2+R3–200)/10.
Research results and their discussion. Before the start of training camps, the average heart health index was 7.1 units. (satisfactory ability to work). At the same time, good performance (<3%) was observed in two athletes, average (3-6 units).)- for four people, satisfactory (7-9 units).)- he has five people, bad (10 units), moderate heart failure) - four people. With this in mind, the training camp program has been compiled with the maximum content of cardio loads.
Repeated performance testing showed significant positive changes in the basketball players. So, the average value was 5.3 units (average working capacity). The indicators of the athletes' ability to work were distributed as follows: no one had good working capacity, four people had satisfactory working capacity, and eleven people had average working capacity.
A comparative analysis of the results suggests that statistically significant changes were recorded in the team (p<0.05).
Conclusion. Thus, the applied program for improving functional capabilities has a sufficiently high efficiency and can be recommended for use in the preparatory period of the game cycle by qualified basketball players.
